ABOUT
My name is MyLinda Butterworth but in the SCA (Society of Creative Anachronism) I am known as the Lady Scholastica Joycors. If you ask those who know me they will say that I am a storyteller, a bard, a fool, a cook, a seamstress, and a friend.
I am the Culinary Bard someone who loves both telling and writing stories as well as cooking the foods I find inside those stories. I began this journey in the SCA in 2011. My very first event with my friend Tatiana Ivanovna of Birchwood Keep had me making 200 hand pies for a pie-eating contest to be held at Lochmere's Night on the Town. Who would know that my second event, Pennsic Wars, would send me into a passion for all things Medieval and Renaissance? I mean I am already a professional storyteller and an award-winning author in my everyday life, but this gives me the opportunity to stretch myself in a different direction, yet still using and expanding the skills I already have.
The Culinary Bard is truly my passion project, gaining more and more traction each day. I hope you enjoy my site and all of the unique content I offer. Follow me as I keep trying new things and taking risks. Take a look around; perhaps you’ll discover what exhilarates you as well. Are you ready to be inspired?
